In accordance with recent Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines, Paytm (PTM) customers are set to face changes in their FastTech accounts after March 15, 2024. The guidelines stipulate that users will no longer be able to top up deposits or perform any credit transactions through their existing Paytm accounts. This also applies to the PTM FastTech accounts.
What does this mean for users? As of March 15, 2024, the ability to add any balance into existing PTM FastTech accounts will be restricted. However, the good news is that users can continue using their PTM FastTag as long as there is a remaining balance.

Deactivating Your PTM FastTech Account:
There are two convenient methods to deactivate your PTM FastTech account.
1. Using Mobile Number and Tag ID:
- Call 18120 4210.
- Provide your registered mobile number along with your vehicle registration number or Tag ID.
- A Paytm customer support agent will then contact you.
- Follow the link sent via SMS to raise your FastTag request.
2. Through the Paytm App:
- Open the Paytm app on your mobile device.
- Navigate to FastTag, select “Manage FastTag.”
- Scroll down and tap on “Help and Support.”
- Choose “I want to close my FastTag” and select your vehicle registration number.
- Confirm your decision to close the FastTag for the selected vehicle.
- Choose a reason for closure and proceed.
Now, the process of closing your PTM FastTech account has been initiated.
Applying for a New FastTech Online:
Follow these steps to apply for a new FastTech online:
- Download the “My FastTag” app from your Play Store or App Store.
- Under the “Buy FastTag” option, click on “Buy Online.”
- You’ll be directed to an e-commerce link where you can purchase the new FastTag.
- Once delivered, return to the FastTag app and click on “Activate FastTag.”
- Select the e-commerce site from where you purchased the FastTag and proceed with the activation process, either by scanning or entering details manually.
By following these steps, you can seamlessly deactivate your existing PTM FastTech account and transition to the new FastTech under the “One Fast, One Vehicle” initiative.
